Stage 2: Prescriptions to Principles
According to Piaget, children begin to morph rules into loose guidelines. Rules are no longer the absolute truth, and children begin to believe that intentions play an important rule in someone's behavior. If a rule no longer serves its general purpose, it may be abandoned entirely. Fairness and equity are now contributing factors, and children begin to see behavior from other people's perspectives.
